Presentation QA Aphorisms 009: Read-First Review of 17 Records

Maintenance ID: 0.1.00075.aphorisms-009 Date: 2026-10-08 Scope: content/aphorisms/ — the 17 records assigned by workload issue #623 (APH-325 through APH-417, exact path list)

What changed

  • Read all 17 assigned records in full, frontmatter through final line. All matched the issue snapshot (8997eebee2a4e620c5dd47fcea97abf515c4cac6) exactly; no intervening diffs.
  • APH-325.peppy-clerk.md: added one blank line after line 12. Every other inter-aphorism separator in the record is three blank lines; the gap between the "load-bearing column" aphorism and the "folklore" aphorism held two. Whitespace only.
  • APH-403.htaccessius-the-doorman.md: added one blank line after line 12. Same defect shape — a two-blank gap between the "inaction" and "queued" aphorisms amid three-blank separators. Whitespace only.
  • APH-404.404sy-mclostalot.md: added one blank line after line 148. The gap sits at the seam where the record's five-aphorism tail block (lines 132–148) begins repeating verbatim (lines 151–167). The duplicated text is untouched; only the separator was brought to the record's three-blank convention.
  • APH-408.the-half-held-breath.md: added one blank line after line 144. Same seam shape — the five-aphorism tail (lines 128–144) repeats at lines 147–163, and the boundary gap held two blanks. Whitespace only.

What was deliberately left alone

  • All frontmatter, canonical IDs, tags, titles, and the collection's blank-line convention (one after frontmatter, two after the H1, three between aphorisms).
  • 12 records reviewed unchanged. Their existing per-aphorism italic pivots were already placed and the spacing was uniform.
  • No new bold was added anywhere. In multi-aphorism records the emphasis convention is per-aphorism italics; elevating one sibling aphorism with the record's only bold would be decoration, not a pivot.
  • APH-404 line 12 already carries its bold lead-in (**You shouldn't be here.**); preserved as found.
  • The verbatim repeated blocks in APH-404 (lines 132–148 / 151–167) and APH-408 (lines 128–144 / 147–163), and the same-opening/different-coda pair at APH-415 lines 12 and 68 — intentional residue, preserved.
  • APH-409's title/filename drift (Ledger Snarl record filed as ledger-snag) — historical irregularity, preserved.
  • The single curly apostrophe at APH-411 line 116 — both apostrophe forms occur corpus-wide; not a defect.

Verification performed

  • BORIS_BIN=/Users/tbuddy/dev/filed.fyi/bin/boris ./bin/validate_graph.sh — passed.
  • python3 scripts/check_collection_counts.py — PASS.
  • git diff confirmed whitespace-only changes: four added blank lines, no word, order, ID, or emphasis changes.
  • Blank-run inventory across all 17 files confirmed the remaining separators are uniform.

Unresolved follow-up

  • APH-412.red-pencil-mercy.md line 116 reads "An perfectly edited clause requires no execution" while the paired line 96 reads "A clause perfectly edited no longer requires execution." The "An" is a probable article slip, but correcting it is a word change outside the presentation boundary. Flagged needs decision on #623; the record's text is unchanged.
