What changed

Read both assigned records in full, frontmatter through final related-residue line.
003.blamey-mctypoface.md line 31: bolded "directs fault exclusively to cosmic rays" — the Aspirational Goal's landing and the record's thesis pivot (all fault routed to an unimpeachable non-entity). Asterisks only.
004.boily-mcplaterton.md lines 13–19: split the biography's four run-together source lines into separate blocks with blank lines (thesis line, two body paragraphs, and the **Known Traits:** label). Previously the whole bio, including the traits label, compiled as a single run-on . Also bolded "a heat advisory warning" — the record's definitional pivot. Whitespace and asterisks only.

What was deliberately left alone

All frontmatter, canonical IDs, tags, titles, anchors ({#...}), quoted/documentary material, lists, headings, and every existing emphasis marker including the  and inline bold already present in verse.
003.blamey-mctypoface.md lines 11–15 stat block: consecutive **Role:**-style lines without hard breaks compile run-on, but this is the dominant stat-block convention across 60+ mascot records — a collection-level convention question, not a per-record fix.
003 lines 53–62 (first Limerick Log stanza pair), 195–215 (second haiku batch), 581–593 (Sidecar Conflict Porter stanzas): verse lines missing two-space hard breaks, compiled run-on. Protected region — flagged needs decision in the PR rather than edited without a maintainer waiver.
004 lines 39–46 (Error Loop Quotables blockquote), 139–165 (second haiku batch), 354–366 (trailing Form 88-B limericks), 630–706 (Obsolescence Steward limericks): same missing-hard-break defect; the blockquote additionally runs six separate quotes into one paragraph. Protected regions — flagged needs decision in the PR.
scripts/fix_verse_hard_breaks.py scopes only limericks/, haikus/, and ## Related Haikus/Limericks regions, so none of the above is caught by bin/validate_graph.sh. Whether mascot ## Haiku Log/## Limerick Log residue should join that contract is a maintainer decision.

python3 read-only run scan of both files; every run-on block enumerated and classified (prose vs. protected verse/quote) before any edit.

Compiled-article inspection of dist/cantilever/mascots/M-0003.html and M-0004.html before and after: confirmed run-on  rendering pre-edit and correct  / separate  blocks post-edit; verse and quote regions untouched.

Unresolved follow-up

The needs decision items above await maintainer waiver or a scoped extension of the verse hard-break convention to mascot ## Haiku Log / ## Limerick Log / blockquote regions.
