What changed

Read all four assigned records in full, frontmatter through final related-residue line. All four unchanged since snapshot 8997eebe; verified by git diff against the snapshot.
006.cass-d-failure.md line 21: bolded "manages institutional memory through cheerful loss." — the biography's landing and the record's thesis pivot (the Role label's claim restated as paradox). Asterisks only.
007.crashy-mcthinkslow.md line 21: bolded "calculating how to delay regret." — the biography's conceptual pivot (lag reframed as deliberately deferred regret). Asterisks only.
009.draft-file-derrick.md lines 23–29: split the biography's four run-together source lines into separate blocks with blank lines (intro line, two body paragraphs, and the **Traits:** label). Previously the whole bio, including the traits label, compiled as a single run-on  with the label detached from the list it introduces — same defect class as 004 in mascots-001. Also bolded "doesn't want to be finished." — the record's definitional pivot. Whitespace and asterisks only.

What was deliberately left alone

008.cssandra-cascade.md reviewed unchanged: emphasis is already spent — the Limerick Log (lines 206–274) bolds nearly every keyword across eight stanzas, plus , italics, and backtick spans throughout. Any addition would be decoration; the Role line already carries the definitional bold.
All frontmatter, canonical IDs, tags, titles, {#...} anchors, quoted/documentary material, lists, tables, and every existing emphasis marker including the  tags and inline bold already present in verse.
Stat blocks at the head of all four records (**Role:**-style lines without hard breaks, compiling run-on): the dominant stat-block convention across 60+ mascot records — a collection-level convention question, not a per-record fix (same disposition as mascots-001).
006 line 22's dangling - FAQ: Currently buffering analog (007 line 22) compiles as its own list; left as residue. 007 line 257's "fantasy / romantic fantasy" repetition and 009's empty ## 🧬 Tags section (lines 17–19) plus orphan --- rules (lines 15, 19) are archival residue, plausibly deliberate for the mascot of unfinished drafts; preserved as found.
Verse hard breaks untouched everywhere per #824.

Needs decision (not edited)

006 lines 303–304: two middle lines of the final "Gratitude Telemetry Misclassification" limerick carry 3-space leading indentation — the only indented stanza in the file. Renders identically to flush-left; normalized nothing.
006 lines 557–600: the entire ### RoboShirker limerick subsection (six stanzas) lacks two-space hard breaks and compiles as run-on paragraphs — verified in dist/cantilever/mascots/M-0006.html. Same defect class flagged needs decision in mascots-001.
008 lines 29–51 (## Haiku): six haikus with no hard breaks, separated by *** rules; each haiku compiles as one run-on paragraph — verified in dist/cantilever/mascots/M-0008.html.
008 lines 83–127 (## 🧾 Council Limericks): six limericks in blockquote form without hard breaks, compiling run-on inside each <blockquote>; stray empty > markers appear both after closing verses (lines 88, 96, 104, 112, 120) and after one heading (line 98). Protected regions left for maintainer decision.

Verification performed

python3 read-only line audit of all four files: every verse-region line without a two-space hard break enumerated above before any edit; 007 and 009 verse are clean.
git diff of edited records reviewed line-by-line: only emphasis markers and blank lines differ; no words, order, IDs, links, frontmatter, or anchors changed.

Unresolved follow-up

The needs decision items above await maintainer waiver or a scoped extension of the verse hard-break convention to mascot ## Haiku Log / ## Limerick Log / ## Haiku / blockquote regions, per the open question carried in mascots-001.
