Presentation QA Mascots 004: Read-First Review of 5 Records
Maintenance ID: 0.1.00174.mascots-004
Date: 2026-10-08
Scope: content/mascots/ — the 5 records assigned by workload issue #731 (010.forbiddy-noentry.md, 011.formee-formeson.md, 012.gregwar-cache-wizard.md, 014.htmlie-structura.md, 015.indexer-hexley.md)
What changed
- Read all five assigned records in full, frontmatter through final related-residue line.
010.forbiddy-noentry.mdline 21: bolded "The logs are 403." — the biography's deadpan landing (denial rationales denied, denials logged, logs themselves denied). Asterisks only.011.formee-formeson.mdline 20: bolded "They experience it as a workflow." — the record's paradox-to-procedure pivot. Asterisks only.012.gregwar-cache-wizard.mdline 21: bolded "It is accurate." — the cold landing of the tested legend. Asterisks only.015.indexer-hexley.mdline 20: bolded "The index is complete—except the parts that matter." — the biography's thesis sentence. Asterisks only.014.htmlie-structura.md: reviewed unchanged. Older headed-section template (## Role,## Function,## 🪪 Credentials, etc.) keeps the definitional lines in their own sections; the slogan already stands isolated and quoted. No prose pivot earns emphasis over that structure.
What was deliberately left alone
- All frontmatter, canonical IDs, tags, titles, anchors (
{#...}), quoted/documentary material, lists, headings, and every existing emphasis marker including the<u>and inline bold/italic already present in verse. - Stat-block lines (
**Role:**etc.) and biography prose lines compiled run-on in all five records — the dominant source convention across the mascot collection; a collection-level convention question, not a per-record fix. 011.formee-formeson.mdlines 216–244: four consecutive "Supersession Reflection Loop" limerick stanzas lack two-space hard breaks and compile run-on (verified indist/cantilever/mascots/M-0011.html—<p>blocks with soft breaks, no<br />), while every sibling stanza uses them. Protected verse — flaggedneeds decision, not edited.014.htmlie-structura.mdlines 60–62: the "🧾 Haiku Records" haiku lacks hard breaks and compiles run-on (verified indist/cantilever/mascots/M-0014.html), unlike the## Haikussection below it. Protected verse — flaggedneeds decision, not edited.014.htmlie-structura.mdlines 106/126, 110/130, 114/134: three aphorisms each appear twice verbatim in the same residue block. Possible generation-paste residue; intentional duplicates are preserved by policy — flaggedneeds decisionfor maintainer ruling.015.indexer-hexley.mdlines 149–156: the "He whispered a search term at night" stanza is an eight-line block with the couplet "To nobody's query delight. / The index returned / What no soul had yearned," repeated — on-theme stutter or paste residue, inside protected verse either way. Flaggedneeds decision, not edited.scripts/fix_verse_hard_breaks.pyscopes onlylimericks/,haikus/, and## Related Haikus/Limericksregions, so none of the above is caught bybin/validate_graph.sh. Whether mascot## Haiku Log/## Limerick Log/headed-verse residue should join that contract is a maintainer decision (see also #824).
Verification performed
python3read-only scans of all five files enumerating every non-blank line missing two-space hard breaks; each run-on block classified (prose convention vs. protected verse) before any edit.BORIS_BIN=/Users/tbuddy/dev/filed.fyi/bin/boris ./bin/validate_graph.sh— passed before and after the edits (fix_verse_hard_breaks: 0 violation(s); Boris diagnostics clean; Cantilever build and certification passed).- Compiled-article inspection of
dist/cantilever/mascots/M-0010.html,M-0011.html,M-0012.html,M-0014.html,M-0015.html: confirmed run-on rendering of the flagged verse regions pre-edit, and correct<strong>placement with untouched<br />verse structure post-edit. python3 scripts/check_collection_counts.py— PASS after count reconciliation.
Unresolved follow-up
- The
needs decisionitems above await maintainer waiver or a scoped extension of the verse hard-break convention to mascot## Haiku Log/## Limerick Log/ headed-verse regions (#824). - The
014duplicate-aphorism trio and the015repeated couplet await a maintainer ruling on whether they are generation residue or intentional duplication.
