Presentation QA Mascots 040: Read-First Review of 10 Records

Maintenance ID: 0.1.00210.mascots-040 Date: 2026-10-08 Scope: content/mascots/ — the 10 records assigned by workload issue #767 (429.queue-matron.md through 439.ring-rita.md, canonical IDs M-0429 through M-0439)

What changed

  • Read all 10 assigned records in full, frontmatter through final related-residue line. None had changed since snapshot 8997eebe (git diff empty).
  • One earned bold pivot per record, asterisks only:
    • 429.queue-matron.md L22: "Queue Matron is measured" — the refutation pivot of the cruelty misreading the paragraph exists to correct.
    • 431.paper-crown.md L22: "He buries it." — the not-X-but-Y definitional turn (content exists; he buries it).
    • 432.afterimage-clerk.md L17: "few can explain why the handling exists" — the visibility paradox that defines inherited basis drift.
    • 433.sidecar-conflict-porter.md L15: "never in the same paragraph" — the pivot clause naming distributed nonresolution.
    • 434.obsolescence-steward.md L17: "exceptions become infrastructure" — the thesis landing of the record.
    • 435.driftlocked-policy-box.md L17: "the box is the rulebook" — the punchline of the administrative-sediment argument.
    • 436.jiggler-jimmy.md L50: "metric homeostasis" — the not-X-but-Y definitional pivot; matches the term's own emphasis in doctrine bridge LLG-0451.
    • 437.manager-mike.md L37: "the threshold wearing a vest" — the definitional image pivot of management-without-managers.
    • 438.mod-maria.md L33: "It has no section for the moderator." — the quiet pivot where the guideline's coverage stops.
    • 439.ring-rita.md L39: "The purchase was the consent; the coverage was the consideration." — the epigram pivot closing the filing notes.

What was deliberately left alone

  • All frontmatter, canonical IDs, tags, titles, anchors ({#...}), link targets, tables, existing emphasis (stat-label and device-label bolds, limerick italics), and every verse line ending — all two-space hard breaks preserved byte-for-byte.
  • 429/431 lines 11–14 stat blocks and their plain Biography/Associated Mascots pseudo-headings: a coherent minority era convention shared by six records (294, 299, 424, 429, 431, 451). The consecutive-lines-collapse convention is collection-wide — a collection-level convention question, not a per-record fix.
  • Verse regions missing two-space hard breaks, flagged needs decision below: protected regions, not edited without a maintainer waiver (cf. 0.1.00056 precedent).

Verification performed

  • python3 read-only run scan of all 10 files; every consecutive-unbroken-line block enumerated and classified (stat block vs. protected verse) before any edit.
  • Compiled-article inspection of dist/cantilever/mascots/M-0429.html, M-0432.html, M-0433.html pre-edit: confirmed run-on <p> rendering for the flagged verse regions.
  • git diff review of all 10 records post-edit: asterisk insertions only; no word, order, frontmatter, anchor, or whitespace-structure changes.
  • BORIS_BIN=/Users/tbuddy/dev/filed.fyi/bin/boris ./bin/validate_graph.sh — passed after the edits.
  • python3 scripts/check_collection_counts.py — passed.

Unresolved follow-up

  • Verse lines missing two-space hard breaks, verified to compile as run-on <p> (protected regions — needs decision, not edited):
    • 432.afterimage-clerk.md L110–114, L118–122: two limerick stanzas under ## Inherited Assumptions collapse to prose; the three earlier stanzas in the same section have breaks.
    • 433.sidecar-conflict-porter.md L83–87, L91–95: first two limerick stanzas lack breaks; stanzas at L99–119 have them.
    • 434.obsolescence-steward.md L83–159: ten consecutive limerick stanzas lack breaks; the final three (L165–185) have them.
    • 435.driftlocked-policy-box.md L83–85, L89–91: two haiku stanzas lack breaks; L98–102, L106–110, L114–118: three limerick stanzas lack breaks; earlier stanzas in both sections have them.
  • 436.jiggler-jimmy.md L12 claims "Seam Fossil SEAM-001 (LLG-0450)" — the same fossil number claimed by 437.manager-mike.md L12. Canonical LLG-0450 assigns SEAM-001 to the algorithmic manager and runs SEAM-001→010 cleanly across mascots 437–446; Jimmy's doctrinal bridge is LLG-0451. Dual-filing may be intentional (the SEAM-001 lorelog entry itself cross-references LLG-0451 for presence telemetry) or a numbering error — maintainer decision required.
  • scripts/fix_verse_hard_breaks.py scopes only limericks/, haikus/, and ## Related Haikus/Limericks regions, so none of the mascot ## Haiku Log / ## Limerick Log gaps are caught by bin/validate_graph.sh. Whether mascot residue verse should join that contract is a maintainer decision.
