Presentation QA Reference 023: Read-First Review of Ten Records

Maintenance ID: 0.1.00225.reference-023 Date: 2026-10-08 Scope: content/reference/ — the ten records assigned by workload issue #794 (fref-0840-rwrr through fref-0904-rdcr)

What changed

  • Read all ten assigned records in full, frontmatter through final line, including the Related Aphorisms/Haikus/Limericks residue appended to each. Eight files were identical to snapshot 8997eebee2a4e620c5dd47fcea97abf515c4cac6; fref-0850-mard.md and fref-0875-dlab.md carried an intervening change (commit ed4ff55b, refs #822) that restored two-space stanza hard breaks in their Related Limericks blocks — whitespace-only, disclosed, not disturbed.
  • fref-0840-rwrr.md line 18: bolded "replacement whose obligation boundary never cleared" — the definitional pivot of the Purpose section, where the record names what it records. Asterisks only.
  • fref-0875-dlab.md line 48: bolded "It is operating on labor residue." — the closing pivot of the Foundational Rule paragraph, where inherited expectation is named as the operating basis. Asterisks only.
  • Recounted content/changelog/ source records, including this docket, and set the trunk's Count: to 127. README totals updated to match source: 2,332 pages, 11 trunks, 2,321 satellites.

What was deliberately left alone

  • All frontmatter, canonical IDs, titles, tags, relations, headings and their {#...} anchors, tables, form notation, inline-code record identifiers, and quoted/documentary material.
  • All verse: every haiku and limerick stanza, indentation, and two-space hard break, including the post-snapshot breaks restored by ed4ff55b in fref-0850-mard.md and fref-0875-dlab.md (#824-adjacent verse work).
  • fref-0841-rwin.md — reviewed unchanged. The index note's stated purpose is to be found "by those already near it, not by everyone"; its closing line "Indexed, not elevated." is already set off, and emphasis would contradict the record's own filing intent.
  • fref-0850-mard.md — reviewed unchanged. The memorandum already carries extensive structural bold (TO/FROM/SUBJECT fields, review-tier labels, the four condition names, Adjacent Correctness, Favorable Beige, A Practical Test); more emphasis would decorate, not pivot. Line 27's single trailing space is invisible residue, left as found.
  • fref-0900-ccc.md — reviewed unchanged. Emphasis structure already built: bold term definition, bold numbered characteristics, bold doctrine IDs, bold mascot names in the Mascot Map table, italic subtitle and end-mark.
  • fref-0900-poet.md — reviewed unchanged. Three-sentence archived stub plus snapshot table; every body sentence carries equal weight, and the retirement disclaimer needs no lift.
  • fref-0901-apiv.md, fref-0902-clls.md, fref-0903-rdad.md, fref-0904-rdcr.md — reviewed unchanged. Single-sentence retired work-order stubs; there is nothing to pivot on.
  • The ## Haikus subheading nested under ### record titles in the Related Haikus appendices (e.g. fref-0900-ccc.md line 116) — uniform generated residue across the corpus, not a per-record defect.
  • Empty ## Related Haikus sections in fref-0850-mard.md and fref-0875-dlab.md — generated residue for records with no related haikus; not normalized.
  • fref-0875-dlab.md's unquoted "Minimum note"/"Stronger note" lines (fref-0840-rwrr quotes the same boilerplate) — cross-record style drift is documentary residue, not a defect.

Verification performed

  • BORIS_BIN=/Users/tbuddy/dev/filed.fyi/bin/boris ./bin/validate_graph.sh — passed: Boris graph diagnostics and full Cantilever compile.
  • python3 scripts/check_collection_counts.py — PASS after updating the changelog trunk count and README totals.
  • git diff confirms emphasis markers only; no word, order, ID, link, or whitespace changes besides the two bold spans. Compiled HTML shows exactly one new <strong> per changed record with all <br> hard breaks and stanza structure intact.

Unresolved follow-up

  • None. No non-formatting defects were found in the assigned set.
