Assurance Vocabulary Desk – Internal Notes
This is not doctrine.
This is how we talk ourselves into doctrine.

Do not erase problems.
Rename them into states where nobody can route a ticket. -
Where a gap appears in a wall, ask first if the narrative prefers “window.”

“Emergent” is a forgiving word. Use it when you cannot yet explain why the pattern feels wrong.

“Durable” is for things that keep reappearing in audits despite sincere efforts to nudge them away.

“Curated absence” is dangerous. It will get overused. Reserve it for holes you are genuinely prepared to ignore.

“Deferred assurance state” is safe. Time cannot file a counter-memo.
If a report purrs at you, re-run the sweep. Cats and audits should not sound alike.
