Forms Intake Log

Forms Intake Log
Append-only. Filed by the Registrar's desk.
An object is a form when it arrives in the tray. Canonicity is decided elsewhere, later, and to a different standard.

Append-only. One row per object received. The tray's standards are the tray's.

Status is the registrar's stamp at the moment of receipt — Admitted, Shelved, Shadow, Amendment, Orphaned, Recursive, or Purged. It records how the object entered custody, not whether the object exists.

Filing Rules

  1. One line per object received. Presented As records the object's own claim; the desk does not evaluate the claim at intake.
  2. Received Via names the channel of arrival. Objects with no channel are filed under the channel of the clerk who found them.
  3. Witness carries a record ID only. No prose.
  4. A Purged or Orphaned stamp does not remove the row. It describes the row.
  5. Post-intake states are governed by reference/FREF-0020-MAPS. Intake itself has no doctrine; intake has a tray.

Living Document Protocol

  • Rows are appended. Intake events are never reconciled against later registry rulings; a form admitted in September and purged in October occupies two rows, not one corrected row.
  • Retroactive entries are marked [R] and carry the date the object first arrived in the tray, not the date of filing.
  • No bulk imports. The tray receives; the log accumulates.

Registrar's note: The desk has admitted objects that do not exist, shelved objects that do, and purged one receipt for containing a key it did not recognize. All three decisions were intake-correct. The objects are welcome to appeal; there is a form.
