Fee and Penalty Schedule
The schedule of assessments levied at the Bursar's Window. It does not state what the fees purchase; collected fees are receipted against the concept of upkeep.
Current schedule:
| Code | Assessment |
|---|---|
| LATE-FILING | One late-filing notice, itself subject to LATE-FILING if unacknowledged. |
| EARLY-FILING | Review surcharge. Premature compliance strains the assessment calendar. |
| UNSEALED-MARGIN | Re-sealing fee, plus wax at current market contemplation. |
| EXCESS-LEGIBILITY | Clarification levy. A form that explains itself must pay for the explanation it displaced. |
| UNSEEN-CITATION | Standard fine for citing a record no living officer has opened. Discounted where the citation was correct. |
| PREMATURE-CLOSURE | Reopening fee, closing fee, and a modest apostrophe surcharge. |
| FORM-ON-FORM | Per-layer assessment for a form filed to correct another form. The schedule declines to set a ceiling. |
| NON-CANCELLATION | Fee for the successful non-cancellation of a filing; governing incident at lorelog/LLG-0381-OPTOUT. |
| APPEAL-OF-FEE | Convenience fee for appealing this schedule. Waivable on payment of the waiver fee. |
| UPKEEP-GENERAL | Standing assessment against the concept of upkeep. Levied quarterly on all records, including this schedule. |
The schedule enumerates what is charged, not what is owed. An officer's ability to pay is not a column and is therefore not audited.
Filing Rules
- One row per assessment class. Sub-classes are recognized on payment of the recognition fee.
- Fees are assessed in the currency of record. Deprecated currencies are accepted at par with their original optimism; see
mascots/M-0224. - Waiver fees are non-refundable, including when the waiver is granted.
- Unpaid assessments accrue at the rate of the officer's remaining patience, compounded administratively.
- Revenue figures are balanced against the Bequest Intake Ledger, which accepts the concept of income on the same terms.
Living Document Protocol
- The schedule is revised whenever a new behavior is observed that the institution would prefer to discourage politely.
- No fee has ever been abolished. Retired fees are reclassified as surcharges on the concept of abolition.
Tender Escrow, held at the window: The fees are correct. The warmth with which they are waived is held in trust pending approvals. The approvals are also held. Everything arrives, eventually, at varying degrees of relevance.
